MEET TERRI

Terri has helped leaders improve their school culture through good communication, high expectations and professionalism.

The goal is simple: Set clear expectations and have open, honest communication to improve staff and student outcomes.

Terri has been in education for over 16 years and almost half of that was spent at a leadership level. Terri has been a principal, curriculum leader, state mentor to new principals and so much more. Mentoring other leaders is her passion.

MY STORY

When I took over my first elementary building, the culture was toxic. It took many years and a team mindset to improve the culture, but we did it. I had tough, honest conversations with my staff which sometimes lead to people leaving. Through clear expectations, consistency and good communication things feel into place and our building began running in a systematic, almost automatic way.

Having a school system that runs automatically allowed me to invest in my own personal growth, which in turn helped grow my staff.

This is my wish for all administrators. To create a system that works automatically so they can invest in their own personal growth so their whole team improves.

I BELIEVE

I believe that the building administrator has the sole power in shaping their school culture and outcomes. It is through good leadership that great teachers are born and school systems thrive. I believe that the climate of a school comes directly from the principal and through good communication and clear expectations all schools can be a place for positive growth and improvement.
